White California Cline Chardonnay

White California Cline Chardonnay 2023 wine
You don’t have to pour it out but it’s recommended to uncork it 30 minutes before serving. Established in 1983 by Jean-Marie Berthier, Domaine Berthier is now managed by his sons Clement and Florian, who handle winemaking and marketing while also working in the vineyard. The estate, which was expanded in the late 90s with the acquisition of Domaine Montbenoit, spans about 24 hectares of vineyards that are cultivated using eco-friendly methods.
The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are sourced from vineyards with calcareous and flinty soils, ensuring the production of mineral-rich and fresh wines. The semi-continental climate in this part of the Loire Valley, influenced by the nearby ocean, supports the gradual maturation of the grapes and the development of their aromatic qualities. Sancerre Les Chasseignes is a refined and graceful white wine displaying a bright straw-yellow hue.
Its bouquet is rich and vibrant, featuring zesty hints of candied citrus, grapefruit peel, exotic fruits, and white peach, with underlying mineral and floral notes. The palate offers a fruity, fresh, and crisp experience with a refreshing acidity and a pleasant mineral undertone that lingers on the finish. This wine pairs perfectly with mixed salads, seafood dishes, and spaghetti with clams.

Decanting the wine is a choice that can be done up to 30 minutes before serving. Cline Family Cellars is located on a 350-acre ranch in California, benefiting from the cooling ocean breezes. Established in 1982 by Fred Cline in Oakley, the winery later moved to Sonoma County, where Fred and his wife Nancy have handed over the business to the next generation of Cline winemakers.
Originally working with bold grape varieties like Mourvedre, Carignan, and Zinfandel, the family found their niche in Rhone varietals after relocating. Despite this shift, they have remained connected to their roots, sourcing this Zinfandel from Fred Cline’s original vineyards in Oakley. The wine, made from 100-year-old vines growing in sandy soils, offers intensely flavorful fruits.
This Californian Zinfandel is a classic and highly enjoyable choice. Its aroma includes red berry notes like raspberry, strawberry, and cherry, complemented by sweet spices and vanilla. With its gentle acidity, it delivers a smooth drinking experience, showcasing flavors of plum, dark cherry, and earthy hints of leather, cedar, and a subtle peppery touch.
This wine is approachable and versatile, pairing well with dishes like barbecue ribs, pulled pork, or smoked cheese.

White California DAOU Reserve Chardonnay 2021 wine
This white wine is recommended to be served chilled. Highly respected Californian winemaker Andre Tchelistcheff has referred to the 212-acre estate in the Adelaida District of Paso Robles as a remarkable blend of natural elements. Situated in the Willow Creek AVA, one of the coolest sub-appellations in Paso Robles due to its nearness to the ocean, this wine benefits from a cool climate and calcareous soils that contribute to its exquisite refinement. Maturation in French oak barrels enhances its natural freshness and subtle minerality. The aroma is characterized by pink grapefruit, white peach, and ripe apricot notes, while the first taste reveals a creamy texture, full body, and a refreshing acidity that leaves a clean finish on the palate.
