Red Greek Costa Lazaridi Amethystos Wine

Red Greek Costa Lazaridi Amethystos Red 2022 wine
Decanting the wine for 30 minutes is recommended. Domaine Costa Lazaridi, situated in the Drama region of Eastern Macedonia, has been crafting some of Greece’s finest wines since 1986 when its state-of-the-art winery was established. Their wines, recognized with over 600 awards in global competitions, consist of four main wine collections: Amethystos, Chateau Julia, Oenotria Land, and Domaine Costas Lazaridis.
Costa Lazaridi Amethystos Red is primarily made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, blended with Merlot and the native Agiorgitiko variety. This wine matures for a year in French oak barrels, with 25% being new, ensuring a seamless fusion of fruity aromas and woody undertones. Displaying a deep purple-red hue, it boasts a rich bouquet with intricate scents of ripe berries, sweet spices, plums, chestnut jam, dried fruit, and coffee.
The taste is robust and balanced, with a velvety texture, subtle oak hints, and flavors of ripe fruit and licorice. It has a full body with gentle tannins and a warm, enduring finish. Ideal for pairing with red meats like lamb chops or shanks, beef stew, or rich soft cheeses such as Brie or Camembert, this wine is a perfect match for hearty dishes.

Red Greek Costa Lazaridi Oenotria Land Cabernet Agiorgitiko 2022 wine
It is advisable to let it breathe for 30 minutes. Initially established on a 10-hectare vineyard in the Drama region, the Costa Lazaridi estate has now expanded to encompass over 230 hectares of vineyards featuring both native Greek and international grape varieties. Production is limited to maintain high grape quality through low yields.
The winery is equipped with modern winemaking facilities, visitor reception areas, wine aging spaces, and a distillery. Additionally, the company produces balsamic vinegar. The Costa Lazaridi Oenotria Land Cabernet Agiorgitiko is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Agiorgitiko, sourced from certified organic vineyards.
The Agiorgitiko adds a moderating touch to the Cabernet Sauvignon’s intensity while preserving its varietal characteristics. This wine is matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, offering a rich bouquet of aromas like dark forest berries, blackberries, plums, chocolate, sweet spices, and smoky undertones. On the palate, it is deep, full-bodied, and well-balanced with soft tannins.
It delivers a warm sensation, culminating in a spicy, elegant, and persistent finish. Ideal pairings include roast lamb, duck, steak, and beef stew.

Red Greek Dalamara Naoussa 2022 wine
It is suggested to let it breathe for one hour. The Dalamara family has been making wine since the latter part of the 19th century. However, in 2009, Kostis, the sixth generation of the family and a skilled winemaker, took over the company.
He is recognized as one of the emerging talents in the Greek wine industry. Today, Dalamara Winery, situated in Naoussa, crafts premium wines that blend traditional winemaking practices of the region with modern techniques. The Xinomavro grapes are sourced from vineyards approximately 15 years old, cultivated organically on naturally sandy and chalky soils.
Following the harvest and a maceration period lasting about 2 weeks, fermentation occurs naturally, and the final wine is aged in barrels (20% new oak).

Red Greek Dalamara Paliokalias 2021 wine
It is advisable to let it breathe for an hour. The Dalamara family winery, situated in Naoussa and established in 1800, has been in the wine production business for generations. In 2009, Kostis Dalamaras, the sixth generation of the family, took over the company and introduced the first single vineyard wine and organic farming methods.
Paliokalias is crafted from Xinomavro grapes, the primary red grape variety in Greece, grown in a 6-hectare vineyard at the base of Mount Vermio, 240-300 meters above sea level. The vines, some of which are over 80 years old, are cultivated organically in a southern-facing plot with porous rock soil. After fermentation, the wine ages for 1 year in oak barrels.
In the glass, it appears as a bright crimson red with violet hues. The aroma is complex and intense, featuring cherry, raspberry, black olive, and tomato leaf notes with a hint of tobacco. On the palate, it is expressive, rich, and velvety, with medium body and subtle acidity.
The wine has well-integrated tannins and a long finish with mineral undertones. It is a wine with a distinctive character that can age gracefully for many years, yet it is also delightful to enjoy now with grilled meats, braised beef with mushrooms, or aged cheeses.
